1. About Us

The SelfCapital Network Platform (“Platform”) is operated by an individual trading under the name SelfCapital Network (“SelfCapital Network”, “we”, “us”, “our”).

The Platform provides educational tools and career-preparation resources related to investment banking and early-career finance roles.

Contact: support@selfcapitalnetwork.com

By creating an account, you confirm that you are at least 16 years old. If you access the Platform from outside the UK, you are responsible for compliance with your local laws.

These Terms also apply to users who access free resources, guides, or content provided by SelfCapital Network without creating an account.

Certain demographic or background questions (such as age bracket or career stage) may be presented during sign-up to help us better understand our users; where offered, selecting “prefer not to say” or an early exploratory option is permitted and will not restrict access to the Platform.

2. Intellectual Property & Account Use

  • All content, design, structure, educational materials, flashcards, mock tasks, scenarios, feedback frameworks, and underlying logic on the Platform are owned by us or licensed to us.

  • You are granted a personal, non-transferable, non-commercial licence to use the Platform for your own learning.

  • You must not copy, reproduce, resell, redistribute, share, or commercially exploit any part of the Platform.

  • Your account is personal to you. You must not share login details or allow others to access the Platform through your account.

  • Participation does not create any employment, advisory, partnership, or compensation relationship.

3. AI Disclaimer & User Submissions

  • Some responses and explanations are generated with the assistance of artificial intelligence. While reasonable efforts are made to ensure relevance and consistency, we do not guarantee completeness or error-free content.

  • Your submissions (e.g., written answers to tasks) are processed by third-party AI providers (such as OpenAI) solely for the purpose of generating feedback.

  • You should avoid submitting unnecessary personal data in your answers. Do not include sensitive personal information (e.g. passport numbers, addresses, national ID numbers).

  • If you voluntarily include personal information, it will still be processed for feedback, but will not be used for AI training or other purposes.

  • AI-generated feedback is intended to support learning and reflection and should not be relied upon as professional, financial, legal, or career advice.

  • When using the Video Mode (mock interview mode), your spoken responses are recorded via your device microphone for the purpose of generating a transcript and automated scoring. Raw audio recordings are not stored. Transcripts are processed solely to generate feedback and delivery metrics.

  • Certain feedback metrics (including structure, clarity, and timing indicators) are generated automatically using algorithmic analysis. These scores are intended for educational purposes only and do not constitute formal assessment or evaluation.

  • By submitting content to the Platform, you grant us a limited licence to process and analyse that content solely for the purpose of providing feedback and improving the Platform.

4. 1:1 CV / Resume Feedback (Early Testing Feature)

The Platform may offer 1:1 CV / resume feedback as an early testing feature.

This service may include:

  • Uploading a CV or resume (PDF or Word)

  • Written feedback provided via email

Important terms:

  • This service is educational and informational only

  • It does not guarantee interviews, offers, or employment outcomes

  • Feedback reflects personal opinion and experience, not hiring authority

  • You remain fully responsible for the content of your CV

  • Uploaded documents are used only to provide feedback and are not shared with third parties for marketing or training purposes.

  • Uploaded documents are stored only for as long as reasonably necessary to provide feedback and are typically deleted within 30 days, unless earlier deletion is requested by the user.

Early testing notice

  • This feature may be modified, priced differently, or discontinued.

  • If the feature is removed or moved behind a different pricing tier, we will provide at least 30 days’ notice via email or the Platform.

5. Payments, Billing & Refunds

  • By purchasing a subscription, you acknowledge that access to digital content is provided immediately. If you are a consumer in the UK or EU, you expressly request immediate access and acknowledge that you lose your statutory 14-day right to cancel once access begins. Therefore, all payments are final. By purchasing, you agree that access begins immediately and no refunds will be provided.

  • Billing is automatic based on your selected subscription. If you cancel, access will continue until the end of your current billing period, after which your account will close.

  • All subscription fees are shown exclusive of any applicable taxes. If VAT, sales tax, or other indirect taxes apply based on your location, these will be calculated and added at checkout. The final amount payable will be shown before you confirm your purchase.

  • Auto-renewal: Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each term unless cancelled before renewal. You can cancel anytime in your account; access continues until the end of the current term. We will email reasonable notice of any price change before renewal.

6. User Responsibilities

  • You must use the Platform lawfully and for its intended educational purpose.

  • You must not attempt to copy, extract, or reverse-engineer the Platform.

  • We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts found in breach of these Terms.

7. Data Security

  • Your information is stored securely and is only accessible by authorised staff and service providers.

  • We do not sell or share your personal data with third parties for marketing.

  • Optional onboarding information: During sign-up, you may optionally provide information such as how you first heard about the Platform. Providing this information is voluntary and is used only for internal analytics and product improvement. You may choose not to provide this information without affecting your ability to use the Platform.

  • Marketing communications: If you choose to opt in to receiving learning tips, insights, content updates, and offers, we may send you emails related to the Platform. This consent is optional and can be withdrawn at any time via the unsubscribe link in our emails, via the Account Settings in your user account, or by contacting support@selfcapitalnetwork.com.

8. Service Availability & Third-Party Services

  • We do not guarantee the Platform will be available in every country or that all payment methods will be supported.

  • Features may change, be added, or removed as the Platform evolves.

  • The Platform relies on third-party services (e.g., payment processors, hosting providers, video tools, AI services). We are not responsible for outages or errors caused by these services, but we will make reasonable efforts to resolve issues.

  • We are not liable for failure to perform due to events beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to technical failures, internet outages, third-party service disruptions, or regulatory changes.

9. Pricing & Updates to Terms

  • We may change subscription pricing from time to time. Any new pricing will only apply at the start of your next subscription period. We will give at least 30 days’ notice before changes take effect (unless required by law).

  • We may update these Terms to reflect new features, improvements, or legal requirements. You will be notified (by email or through the Platform) before material changes take effect. Continued use of the Platform after that date constitutes acceptance.

  • If you do not agree to the updated Terms, you may stop using the Platform at the end of your current subscription period.

10. Promotions & Events

  • Promotions, referral codes and discounts may be time-limited, non-transferable and subject to eligibility. We may modify or withdraw promotions to prevent misuse. If we detect abuse (e.g., self-referrals, code resale, or fraud), we may remove the benefit and suspend the account.

  • Events: Tickets and access are subject to capacity and any additional terms notified for the event or venue. We may change speakers, format (in-person/virtual), or dates for reasons beyond our control. You agree to comply with venue and code-of-conduct rules. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for third-party venue issues.

11. Liability

  • The Platform is provided “as is.” We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability or error-free operation.

  • To the maximum extent permitted by law:

    • We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses

    • We are not responsible for hiring decisions or outcomes

    • Our total liability to you for any claim shall not exceed the fees you paid to us in the 12 months prior to the claim, except where liability cannot be limited under applicable law

  • We are not responsible for how users interpret or rely upon automated feedback, scoring outputs, or suggested rewrites.

12. Educational Use Only

  • All content and feedback provided on the Platform is for educational and informational purposes only. Nothing on the Platform constitutes financial, legal, investment, employment, or professional advice, nor does it represent the practices or views of any specific employer or institution.

  • Nothing on the Platform should be interpreted as recruitment activity or as participation in any employer’s hiring process.

  • We make no representation or guarantee that use of the Platform will result in interviews, offers, employment, or specific career outcomes.
